SUPPORT TO THE GIDAADI ASSOCIATION

Gidaadi Association is a youth focused group aimed at helping young people develop important personal and interpersonal skills. These include the ability to think critically and solve problems and the assumption of personal and group responsibility. It also helps young people gain self-confidence and acquire great self-esteem.

About 400-500 young people were able to organize and mobilize themselves well and started meeting regularly but as youth unemployment is all time high; the only setback for these young ones was funding for their activities and logistics.

The leadership of the Gidaadi Association led by Basit reached out to the Fridaus Mubarak Yussif Foundation to support them.

After careful consideration, the foundation led by Mr. Fridaus Mubarak Yussif support them in these ways;

• Procuring over 200 chairs for the Association
• Procuring over 300 customized T-shirts for the Association
• Financial support for their outdoor activities and programs

Nonetheless, the Association has made other requests which is also at the consideration stage and in due time, the Association will take stock of them.

Resolution 22/50 which is centered on Peace and Security stipulates that; if the youth in a given community at a given time are all actively engaged; there’s less room for detractors to infiltrate to make them become chaotic.

It is with this spirit, the Fridaus Mubarak Yussif Foundation will not renege on ensuring these young ones become peace makers and lovers and not the other way round.
