In the Nsawam environs, teenage pregnancy is a canker that has eaten into the fabrics of most young and promising ladies and just hitting the undo button, we cannot autocorrect.

The Nsawam Adoagyiri Government Hospital therefore, has got a lot of young mothers’ who after putting to birth cannot afford their medical bills and cater properly for the babies. The menace of teenage pregnancy seemed not to be only on the ascendency but needed to be critically looked at.

The Fridaus Mubarak Yussif Foundation (formerly known as the Salvest Baby Foundation), timely intervention put smiles on the face of some mothers who had just put to birth and other lactating mothers.

About 125 mothers (those who had given birth and some lactating) full medical bills was paid for entirely and also baby food and cash was given to some of them to reduce the burden on them, since most of these young ladies (mostly between the ages of 12-16) could not locate the men who put them in a family way.

The foundation also paid for a short term of counseling for these young mothers and made them rejuvenated with the assertion of Alicia T. Bowens; “I hope that teen moms realize that their path to success still exists, and the only way to achieve it is to make the decision to go after it”. This is because being a young mom means we met a little early. But it also means I get to love you a little longer.

Some people are of the opinion that, if you have a child as a teenager your life has ended, but truth is, life just begun. Life didn’t take away from their future, it just gave them a new one.

Aside the stigma associated with being young mom, it is also accompanied with societal distress. The Fridaus Mubarak Yussif Foundation aims at eradicating or reducing these problems of young mothers in accordance with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 1, 2, 4, 5 and 10.

It is ipso facto that, the foundation will not renege on its responsibility of making the world a better place for all.
